Summarize and reflect on what you have read

Writing for the web is different than writing for print. People get bored really easily and you should make sure to use links, otherwise you pages seem to be boring. Make sure you keep it personalized and have good navigation.

Make sure what you write about fits with what the website is about. Put the conclusion at the beginning. Get the point across in the first paragraph and then expand on it. Tell the reader what to do Avoid passive voice (oh my...not my strongest part), and use lists instead of paragraphs. Limit the lists to 7 words and write short sentences. Include subheadings and make sure links are a part of your site. Always proof read your work.

The chapter 13 in our non-designer web book talks about advanced tips and tricks (which I could use :-)) It shows you how much you can have with tables, or how to adjust color, and slicing graphics and many more.

The chapter 14 talks about how to test and fix your website. You must make sure that before going live your website works. It talks about site management software and how test your pages and fixing things that are not working.

The chapter 15 is all about uploading and updating your site. Once you are finished creating your website you should post it on to a server. To do that you have to upload the files (FTP) to a server. It showed us how to do it and once it is on the server how to check it for errors and fix them.
